The 'main findings' of our most recent Ofsted inspection (2010) stated:
'Pupils flourish in a school whose performance has been transformed in the last three years. Strong leadership, an exciting curriculum and excellent support for pupils to achieve their best means that their achievement in all subjects is exceptional. "A lovely school where children are happy and thriving" is a representative comment from a parent or carer that sums up the outstanding work of Box C E Primary School. Pupils are enthusiastic about their school: "a very happy, friendly school and all feel safe" sums up their views.'At the heart of the village of Box, nestled in the beautiful By Brook valley, our school has recently celebrated its 300th anniversary. Initially established as a charity school in the church of St. Thomas a Becket, as a church school we offer a distinctive education based on Christian principles, where every person is valued, encouraged to respond compassionately to others and helped to achieve their potential.
Over the years it has continued to go from strength to strength and although the curriculum and location has changed a little we are still here 300 years later! The school moved to its present site in 1875 which you can see in the photo above.
A three class extension was completed in the summer of 2005.
We are very proud of our school and all its achievements.
